Lead with confidence, not arrogance.

Inspire by sharing a bold vision. People can only help you build the future you have in mind if there’s absolute clarity of what it should look like.

Understand first, act second. Be empathetic to the people who want to contribute to building the company’s vision, be ruthless to the people who have other agendas.

Define your expectations, in detail. Address misalignment, in the moment.

Praise in public, criticize in private.

Empower people to do what they do best, then get out of the way.

Minimize the scope, push for speed. If 100% can be done in 10 months, 80% can be done in 2 months.

Encourage giving and receiving feedback. Listen to the words that aren’t being said, but never assume.

Be consistent.

And last, but not least… lead by example.
